After the integration of CNC equipment, the laser hardening process with diodes became feasible both for parts with small localized areas and medium- to large-sized tools / molds (up to 30 tons) – including tools to cut and draw side parts of vehicles.
The hardness of the treated material depends on the chemical composition of the base material.
The best materials for laser hardening are steel and cast irons (which are typically used to make medium- to large-sized tools). In principle, all air-hardened steels and cast materials can be submitted to the laser hardening process.
The laser hardening technique reduces tool manufacturing time, as the programs can be already made with CAD/CAM – that is, from the very mathematical model, before the tool or part is delivered.
The revolutionary and innovative laser hardening process with diodes in now available in Brazil. It will bring huge benefits for virtually all tooling processes and also for serial parts that require surface or localized laser hardening.
PARTS THAT CAN BE HARDENED WITH THIS METHOD
Matrixes, punchers, trimming tools, plastic injection molds, serial parts, etc.
MAXIMUM DIMENSIONS OF PARTS: 5,000 x 1,500 x 1,500 mm
The treated parts can weigh up to 30 tons (please consult us in case of heavier parts).
